Dr. Monica Irene Dixon-Houston is a dedicated educator, licensed esthetics instructor, and wellness entrepreneur committed to elevating the standards of beauty education in South Carolina. As the owner of Beautiful Butterfly, LLC dba Brazilian Wax and Spa by Claudia’s  in Moncks Corner, she blends academic leadership with hands-on esthetics expertise to create transformative learning and wellness experiences.

 

With a strong foundation in Educational Leadership—earning her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina  and multiple advanced certifications from The Citadel—Dr. Dixon-Houston has spent more than 20 years shaping student success, adult education programs, and professional development initiatives. Her leadership roles within Berkeley County School District  strengthened her passion for mentoring, curriculum design, and helping learners reach their full potential.

 

After becoming a Licensed Esthetician and later a Licensed Esthetics Instructor, she expanded her mission into the spa and wellness field. Today, she specializes in advanced waxing techniques, corrective skincare treatments, body therapies, and client-centered wellness practices. Her dual expertise in education and esthetics uniquely positions her to guide licensed estheticians, cosmetologists and nail technicians as they transition into impactful, confident instructors.
